UFCW Canada Local 1869 Negotiations Update - Proposals to be Exchanged with Employers

Your negotiating committees are in place for both bargaining units and all bargaining proposal meetings have been completed. Your committees have met and finalized our proposals for presentation to the employer.

Proposals are to be exchanged with St Boniface Hospital/DSM on April 30, and with the WRHA Laundry on June 11. Formal negotiations will begin following this exchange after allowing both sides the necessary time to review research and cost the various proposals submitted.

Local 1869 After Xmas Xmas Party raises $1,400 for LLSC

More than 100 UFCW Canada Local 1869 members recently gathered for the UFCW Canada Local 1869 After Christmas Christmas Party. The post-holiday season get-together was held in late January at the St-Louis Centre in Winnipeg's St. Boniface neighborhood. It was fun-filled evening, as well as a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC).

February - Black History Month

In December 1995, Jean Augustine, the first Black woman ever to be elected to the House of Commons, introduced a motion to “take note of the important contribution of black Canadians to the settlement, growth and development of Canada, the diversity of the black community in Canada and its importance to the history of this country, and recognize February as Black History Month.
